RØ Praksis uses large glass windows and a ground-hugging, single-story form to draw the changing seasons into daily life. A corridor running the length of the building gently links indoors and outdoors, while natural materials—wood, earth, and stone—bring a profound sense of calm. You can step away from the rush of daily life and naturally ease into an unhurried way of living.

01

Continuous Large Glass Windows

Square glass windows, measuring 2.4 m x 2.4 m, are arranged in a continuous run, gently blending the boundary between inside and outside to welcome light and air. By fostering a deep connection with nature, the design creates an open space where the subtle changes of each season can be enjoyed.

02

Corridor Design Creating a Pleasant Flow

A long corridor runs through the interior; like an engawa, it gently delineates space while naturally linking indoors and outdoors, as well as adjacent rooms. It serves as a passage for light and air, fostering a pleasant flow as you move while taking in views through the glazing.

03

A Single-Story Home Hugging the Ground, Extending Horizontally

With a single-story structure close to the ground, the design spreads low and horizontally. Resonating with the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art and the Farnsworth House, its pronounced horizontal lines create a composition in harmony with nature.

(Architecture)

The design uses a structural system of standardized modules. This allows for seamless expansion or reconfiguration to suit any site, usage, or budget, all while maintaining a cohesive look. By building module by module, the system reduces waste and is both cost-efficient and high-quality. The result is a flexible living space that balances function and beauty for any lifestyle or environment.

Modular by Design, Tailored to You.

(Materials)

We celebrate the inherent beauty and character of each material, creating architecture and furniture that harmonize with the landscape. We see building materials as more than just components; they are reflections of a place's memory and culture. Shaped by years in nature, each material carries the land's time and stories into the future.

Wood

Our materials shape the architecture as structural elements and exterior finishes. They embody the memory of the forest, maturing in tone and patina over time. The result is a space filled with a soft, welcoming warmth and quiet vitality.

Stone & Tile

Robust materials designed to withstand and define daily life, from flooring to kitchen surfaces. Their natural layers and tactile texture quietly capture the play of light and shadow, maturing with use to develop a rich patina and enduring depth.

Earthen Materials

Earth-based materials applied to walls and ceilings through expert plastering. Subtly responding to humidity and light, these surfaces reveal a different, quiet character each day. The accumulated layers of artisan handwork create a rich, enveloping texture.

(Case)

We offer two modular plans: "Dark", a 140 m² home anchored in black, and "Light", a 70 m² home with natural wood tones. Both provide distinct spatial experiences at different scales, accommodating various lifestyles and family sizes. We'll use these plans as starting points to expand our service with new variations and customizable configurations, tailoring them to fit your specific needs and site conditions.
